Tasks

1. Design a vocabulary lesson plan for LANG 1010 (choose your language).

2. Find out some basic info about the vocabulary in your target language.

Your studentss

Novice learner. First semester true beginners. No or very little prior knowledge/proficiency in the target language.

Requirements

Task 1

1. Last 10 minutes of classroom teaching;
2. Introduce a set of words (e.g., 5 to 7);
3. Teach all aspects of vocabulary knowledge, i.e., form, meaning, usage;
4. Your plan should include input and output activities;
5. Explain briefly in your lesson plan the rationale behind each activity, i.e., which aspect or aspects, i.e., form, meaning, usage, it targets at.
6. Upload your Word or PPT file onto D2L.

Task 2

1. Search the Internet for information about the average vocabulary size of a native speaker in your target language;
2. Find at least ONE list of frequently used words in your target language;
3. Find info (if available) about the basic set of words a language learner should know in your target language.
4. Post your links on D2L.
