Checklist for mid term exam

1. Long term memory: 5Cs and national standards for foreign language education

2. Be able to describe briefly ACTFL proficiency guidelines, e.g., 5 proficiency levels, and highlights of what learners can do at each level.

3. Vocabulary instruction: What do we mean by knowing a word (i.e., what is vocabulary knowledge, passive and active knowledge), examples of vocabulary learning activities, including both input and output oriented types.

4. Be able to discuss and give examples of the communicative approach (activity).

5. Be able to discuss briefly about a typical lesson plan: Phases of instruction for a complete classroom session, and what is to be done in each phase.
